A Letter from the Prez
There is no way I can thank all of you that helped with our 5th Annual Art Show, but I will try.
I would especially like to thank Len Ivel and his team for all their help with the racks. Your trailer, Len, seems to me made just for our purpose, and your organizational skills and hard work saved us so much time in the set up and take down. 64 racks went from East Brookfield to the Spencer Town Hall and got put together and arranged in 90 minutes. A new world record!!
I would also like to thank all the newest members of the Guild for joining in with the work. Even though you had no idea what you signed up for, you were there pitching in. You don’t know what that means to me!! We are very lucky to have you as members.
I have to thank the show committee. We spent 9 months planning out all the little details and it really paid off. And you all kept your cool at crunch time! Not an easy feat!!.
Thanks to all the sitters - you graciously welcomed guests & really sold those raffle tickets! Thanks to Jan & Jane and all those who contributed food. It was a great spread! (Another world record for “a buffet demolished!”) Thanks to those who hung the show and those who took down the show. Thanks to Debbie Kirk for meticulously arranging and straightening paintings up to the last minute. Thanks to Norman for the fabulous raffle table and to those who contributed to it. Thank you to Bemis Farms Nursery for once again adorning our show with live plants and to Norman C. for hauling them back and forth. Thanks to all who put out merchandise for sale. The show goers look forward to purchasing treasures. Thanks to John and Tim for donating an hour of live music. You added to the ambience of our show and got our feet tappin’. Thanks to Emile, our elder statesman. You are a great ambassador for our group. Thanks to Michele and Pat for putting together the program. You pulled together and survived the last minute nature of the beast!! Thanks to Gayle and Carole. You dug deep and finished what you had begun. I truly do appreciate you both. Thanks to Ann Marcel for enduring the cold, keeping the books and spending 14 hours with me. You deserve a medal! Thanks to Sherpa John. You did it again!
And to all of you ….Thanks for all the little things. Thanks for all the “What can I do to help?” s. Thanks for all the smiles, the compliments, the suggestions, the fresh flowers. Thanks for entering your artwork into the show! (the most important thing of all) All of this WOWed the visitors and made for a wonderful event.
Like with childbirth, I have already forgotten the pain, and I am so proud of what we have accomplished together. I look forward to a bigger and better show next year!
Once again, THANK YOU! Mary Kay Ebersold - President

October Program Recap – The last 10 minutes of a painting
Thank you to Pierre Theriault for his presentation and demonstration on little things that you can do to a painting that really “finish” it. As he demonstrated he explained why what he is doing is so important for that finished look. It was truly an enjoyable and very useful presentation!

Please join us for a painting session that afternoon, or just stop by for some coffee. Rotate your prints and paintings.
